The Stone House is open for tours May through October. The tour hours are Friday through Monday, from 1:00 p.m. – till 5:00 p.m.
The Stone House was the home of the Kennedy Family for several generations. In 1975, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A Remembrance Walk leading to the Stone House from the parking lot was launched to start a Foundation fund to accomplish restoration. The restoration had been estimated at a cost of over $600,000.00.
When the restoration was complete the actual funds expended for the restoration were $88,000.00, as documented in the books of the Friends of the Kennedy Stone House. Over $70,000.00 of “in kind” services was given by contractors, friends and businesses to make the Stone House Museum a gem for Guernsey County.
