TALK TO THE DOCENTS ON DUTY ABOUT THE PROGRAM - MANY HAVE PARTICIPATED EACH YEAR

DUTIES: The Docent week begins and ends on a Thursday.

You open and close the museum, maintaining days and hours of operation - Friday through Monday 1-5 PM during the May through October Season for tours at the Stone House.

You give a guided tour to visitors telling the story of the stone house & local history of the period. Encourage all visitors to sign the guest book. A wall cupboard holds a number of items for sale. Please record sales of these items on your deposit slip along with donations received. FOLLOW INSTRUCTION LOCATED IN YOUR HAND BOOK.

EXCEPTIONS: Docents must maintain a professional appearance.

T-shirts and jeans are not acceptable dress for a docent! There is a supply of period costumes for ladies, men and children at the Cornish Docent Cabin. (We ask only that you wash them after using.) With a discounted room rate at the Lodge, this is a wonderful time to meet and enjoy the company of other docents. A Handbook for home study is supplied.
